For three years, Thomas Jefferson running back Dylan Mallozzi patiently waited for his time to shine.
Playing behind the likes of standout running backs Justin Vigna and Max Shaw, Mallozzi grew as a runner and continued to work tirelessly to prove himself.
Now in his final high school season, Mallozzi’s patience and hard work are paying off.
“He paid his dues, he worked hard and a lot of kids don’t want to do that,” Thomas Jefferson head coach Bill Cherpak said. “Most want instant gratification and say, ‘I want to start as a freshman or I’m not playing,’ but he didn’t do that. He understood where he was, he had some great players in front of him and he put in the work and was ready to go.
“I’m so happy for him because this is a season he deserves. He works so hard.”
