Residents in Pleasant Hills will soon see improvements to the Pleasant Hills Boulevard pedestrian bridge.

This week, state Sen. Pam Iovino, D-Mt. Lebanon, announced the combined award of $3.7 million in state and Allegheny County grant funds to support economic development, infrastructure and transportation projects in the 37th district.

Pleasant Hills will receive $220,445 of that grant to repair the bridge, which is located over Old Lebanon Church Road.

According to Pleasant Hills Mayor William Trimbath, the borough has been seeking funds to repair the bridge for quite a while.

“We’ve been chasing this grant for three years, so we’re very happy to receive it,” Trimbath said.
