Resistance from a resident and failure to make motions from the Rostraver Board of Commissioners resulted in the rejection of the transfer of two separate liquor licenses in the township.
During two respective public hearings that took place at last night’s monthly meeting, the motions to approve the transfers were voted down by the board.
Gregory Szallar served as the representative for the liquor transfers and presented information related to the potential transfers. The two transfers would have been made by way of Trafford borough and Derry Township in Westmoreland County. The prospective locations for the transfers were the CoGo’s gas station and Little Caesars Pizza near the airport and the BFS gas station, which are both located on Route 51 north.
Szallar said of the 69 BFS locations in the country, 22 are located in Pennsylvania and only three of those stores possess liquor licenses. The inter-municipal transfer would not have allowed for the sale of any distilled spirits.
