Grandparenting can be difficult, especially around the holidays.
To show support for grandparents who are caring full-time for their grandchildren, Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging held its annual Christmas celebration Thursday for area families to celebrate their efforts.
The Grandparent Support Group, open to those 55 and older who are the primary caregivers for children 18 and younger, has been in operation for more than a decade.
The support group is an extension of the SPHS Grandparenting Program, which is open to grandparents from Fayette, Washington and Greene counties.
More than 40 grandparents and nearly 60 grandchildren are involved.
