North Belle Vernon council and three state lawmakers recognized the borough’s Volunteer of the Year at Tuesday’s meeting.
“Every year we have a thing where we give an award to the top volunteer of the year for North Belle Vernon Community Bank Park,” Councilman RJ Sokol said. “The first year it was Mark Fredrick, the second year it was Lynn Sokol. This year, in the most deserving way, we’d like to award Pam Ambrose.”
Last year’s volunteer of the year, Lynn Sokol, talked about Ambrose’s dedication.
“A lot of people need to know that she does a lot of volunteer work in town and at North Belle Vernon Community Bank Park,” Lynn Sokol said. “She does a lot of work behind the scenes and I call her for help all the time.
“You deserve it for all the hard work and time and energy you put into our community,” Lynn Sokol said to Pam.
