Vikings wilt under BVA pressure

Coming off a tough overtime loss to West Mifflin, Belle Vernon Area head coach Ronnie Drennen wanted to see how his team was going to respond.
Unfortunately for Mt. Pleasant, it was next on the schedule.
The Vikings scored the first basket of the contest, then it was all Belle Vernon from there.
The Leopards used huge runs in each of the first three quarters and ran away with a 59-23 Section 3-4A win over the Vikings.
“The biggest thing I wanted us to do is be aggressive and be more assertive with the ball,” Drennen said after the win. “We just had to get back to playing up to our capabilities. But I was interested in how we were going to come out.”
