A two-vehicle accident at a busy Rostraver Township intersection sent one person to the hospital early Wednesday afternoon.
Rostraver police, Rostraver Central Fire Department and North Belle Vernon Fire Department assisted on the scene after a car exited the Fairfield Inn parking lot onto Finley Road. Vehicles operated by Robert Reeb of Monongahela and Rodney Merritt of Monessen collided as Reeb was leaving the hotel parking lot, according to Rostraver police Chief Greg Resetar. The collision caused Reeb to do a loop, take out a mailbox and go over a hill, Resetar said.
Merritt was transported to a local hospital by Rostraver West Newton Emergency Services for unknown injuries. Resetar said Reeb was freed from the wreckage of his vehicle by firefighters and refused medical treatment.
No passengers were present in either vehicle and no other injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
