Howard A. ‘Pete’ Behanna – Forward Township
Howard A. “Pete’’ Behanna, 94, of Forward Township, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020. Born in Black Diamond/Monongahela on Nov. 18, 1925, he was the son of the late Howard J. and Mary Caroline Hauser Behanna. Pete was the Fire Marshall and worked at the Bettis Atomic Power Lab in West Mifflin. He was a member of Ella Hollow Bible Church and was a volunteer for the Forward Township Fire Department for many years. Pete was very proud of his garden and was known as the “50 cent vegetable man” by the many folks who purchased his vegetables. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his son, Kenneth H. Behanna and his wife, Robin Gaydos-Behanna; daughter, Mari Ulicny and her husband, Paul Ulicny; grandchildren, Kassandra Behanna, Robert Behanna, Stormy Gaydos and Dusty Gaydos; sister, Norma Kohut; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Sedon Behanna in 2010; brother, William Behanna; and sister Faye Hobaugh. Friends will be received on from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery.
