Peccon hits 1,000 as Rams roll over Raiders

To say Friday night was busy and strange for the Ringgold boys basketball team would be an understatement.
It started early when the team’s game against Waynesburg Central was moved to the middle school gym after the ceiling was found to be leaking in the high school gym.
Ringgold honored its seniors along with two historic teams during pregame and halftime ceremonies, respectively.
But the main thing that was on everyone’s mind was “21.”
That was the number of points senior guard Chris Peccon needed to get to the 1,000 career-point plateau, a mark he reached with a layup in the middle of the fourth quarter in Ringgold’s dominant 71-34 victory over the Raiders.
“It started this morning for me,” Peccon said. “I walked into school and I saw some of my friends were working on signs for the game and a little, rip-off countdown poster. It was a little bit nerve-racking, but I just had to play my game and focus on my shot.”
