Manns Drug Store, a neighborhood pharmacy in White Oak for 93 years, will close its doors Thursday.

Located at the junction of O’Neil Boulevard and Lincoln Way, the business and four generations of the Manns family have served White Oak and McKeesport residents from the same location since 1926.

Owner Dave Manns said the decision to close the business was difficult.

“This was a tough decision; our customers are our friends,” he said. “We’ve cared for their families for generations. The changes in managed health care and the high cost of drugs forced us to close.

“I’m distraught, I started helping my dad when I was just a kid. I’ve spent my entire life working here, but this is something we had to do. Going forward, we’re going to focus on our home health care and the mobility products businesses.”
