After nearly two years, there may be an end in sight for the closure of Route 906 between Fayette City and lower Belle Vernon.
On Monday, officials from PennDOT District 12 and elected officials from Belle Vernon, North Belle Vernon, Fayette City, Washington Township and Rostraver Township met in Uniontown to discuss what has been — and will be done — regarding the road closure that has affected residents in several communities for the past two years.
The closure runs along Route 906 from the intersection with Route 201 (Fayette Avenue) in Washington Township to Blind Lane in Belle Vernon.
District Executive Joe Szczur said the project has proven difficult since rocks began to fall from the hillside in 2014.
