Winter weather sent a chill throughout the Mon Valley on Friday, bringing the first major snow storm of the winter season.
Slippery road conditions caused drivers to move slowly, and many schools and local libraries shuttered their doors due to the blast of snow.
There were several minor accidents reported throughout the Valley, including a one-vehicle crash on Route 43 near mile marker 45. A pickup truck reportedly rolled over, but no one involved was injured. Valley Inn Volunteer Fire Department responded.
Fallowfield Township Fire Department Chief Anthony Fleming said there were several accidents throughout the township, but nothing especially dangerous.
“We just had a couple very minor crashes,” Fleming said. “There were no injuries and nothing out of the ordinary.”
