Second quarter struggles haunt Warriors in loss to Blackhawk

Elizabeth Forward has seen games derail because of a single quarter.
It’s the perils of a fairly young team, and something Matt Loftis has tried to lessen since he took over as the Warriors’ coach last season.
Nonetheless, it proved to be the Warriors undoing on Wednesday.
In a first-round Class 4A playoff matchup between EF and Blackhawk, the Warriors fell, 72-49, largely due to a second quarter in which they were outscored, 25-5, at West Allegheny High School.
In the other three quarters, Elizabeth Forward was outscored by just three points.
