Penn State Greater Allegheny students who are in science-based majors recently learned their educational experience is getting an upgrade.
Last Friday, the Penn State Board of Trustees approved a $14.7 million project to modernize and improve the existing 22,000-square-foot Ostermayer Laboratory, located near the edge of PSUGA’s McKeesport campus. The board’s committee on finance, business and capital planning recommended the project for approval Feb. 20 and the board approved it one day later.
Built in 1973, the Ostermayer Lab houses two biology and two chemistry teaching laboratories, along with four research laboratory spaces, a laboratory preparation space, faculty and staff offices and one general purpose classroom.
The Ostermayer Building is located between Oxford Drive and the J. Clarence Kelly Library.
