After nearly a year of work and planning, Charleroi will soon unveil its strategic plan.
The borough began the process last spring and hired consultant Dennis Martinak to begin the study and come up with a five-year plan through the Early Intervention Program.
A draft of the plan, which will likely be given to council in the coming weeks, will include a comprehensive study of the borough’s assets, liabilities and blight.
Formerly known as the EIP, the program is now called the Strategic Management Planning Program, helping communities develop comprehensive multi-year financial plans and establish short- and long-term financial objectives.
The state Department of Community and Economic Development paid for the plan, which will be up for public review after it is given the green light by council and the DCED.
