Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Pleasant Hills borough announced new guidelines at Monday night’s commissioners meeting concerning how emergency calls and other borough functions will operate for the foreseeable future.
The new guidelines went into effect Monday and will stay in place until further notice:
• Emergency calls where a person’s personal safety or property are immediately endangered will have officers continue to promptly respond to the scene and in a manner appropriate to the emergency.
• Non-essential calls will be handled by telephone instead of responding. This includes fraud, theft calls, reports of previous crimes, suspicious behaviors not ongoing, informational requests and general complaints. Calls will be screened by an officer. Calls placed after 3 p.m. may have to leave a message for the watch commander.
• The Pleasant Hills Municipal Building will be closed to walk-in traffic. Refer to www.pleasanthillspa.com for phone numbers or emails to specific departments.
• All Pleasant Hills community parks are closed through the end of March to adhere to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s regulations for social distancing and to reduce contact areas. Any organization that booked a park for use during March will receive a refund.
• Time-sensitive municipal services, such as dye tests and permit requests, will be handled by appointment only.
• Garbage bills can be dropped off at First National Bank, located next to Med- Express on Route 51. Sewage payments can be placed in the drop box in the municipal building’s parking lot.
