Pennsylvania has added another 1,400 confirmed cases of coronavirus patients, bringing the total to 8,420.
The number of deaths increased by a dozen overnight as well and now stands at 102.
In Allegheny County, the patient count increased by 57 and is now at 476. No patients have died since the first two deaths were announced in late March.
In Fayette, an increase of five patients has left the county with 20 cases and one death.
In Washington County, there were two cases added, bringing the total to 40. Westmoreland added 26 patients overnight and now has 110 cases. Neither county has reported a COVID-19-related death.
Big changes at Walmart
Starting today, Walmarts across the country will limit the number of customers permitted in the store at any one time.
The limit will be five customers for every 1,000 square feet of a store’s capacity — or 20% of a store’s normal capacity. There will be one entrance to the store, which will be manned by employees. Customers will be admitted and counted one at a time.
Employees will remind people of social distancing while they wait outside. Once a store reaches capacity, customers will be admitted on a one-out-one-in basis.
The store will institute one-way movement through the aisles next week by using floor markers to keep customers from coming into close contact with others.
The company said in a statement it understands stores are places for socializing, but health has to come first.
“We now want to prioritize health and safety by encouraging customers to do their shopping at a distance from others, then head home,” the company stated.
