During these trying times in which Pennsylvania residents are practicing social distancing and staying home, Jocelyn Timlin can be found perfecting her craft within the confines of her home.
The Bentworth senior, who also plays for the Riverhounds Development Academy, said she has received weekly workout regiments and training sessions from the academy and has worked to stay in shape by participating in her own workouts and going on daily runs with her brother, Jerzy.
Unlike past years, Timlin isn’t working tirelessly in an effort to further prepare for another year of high school soccer.
Instead, she is gearing up for the beginning of her collegiate career at West Virginia Wesleyan.
Beginning in the fall, Timlin will play for head coach Richard Owens and the Bobcats, who finished 13-7 overall and 10-4 in Mountain East Conference play in 2019.
“I am very grateful and honored to have the opportunity to play for West Virginia Wesleyan because not everyone gets the opportunity to continue their athletic career after high school,” said Timlin, the daughter of Joe and Tawnja Timlin of Scenery Hill.
“I always imagined that I would play soccer beyond high school. I have been playing since I was 5 and the first few years I played, my dad was my coach. My parents have always been my biggest supporters and have always encouraged and pushed me to do my best on and off the field.
“I have always had a love for soccer not only because of scoring goals or winning games, but because of the friendships I have made along the way that keep me coming back.”
