Anthony J. ‘Tote’ Reda – Monessen
Anthony J. “Tote” Reda, 93, of Monessen, died Thursday May 21, 2020, in Hallsworth House, Monessen. He was born on Oct. 14, 1926, in Monessen, the son of the late Eugene and Koncheta Trotj Reda. “Tote” was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church and its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 954, Italian Society of Mutual Aid, American Legion Post 28, Monessen Elks 773 and the Italian-American Heritage Society. “Tote” served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., having worked at the former Monessen plant. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Antoinette Altomare Reda; three daughters, Bernadette (Fred) Naccarato, Anita Reda and Connie (Jeffrey) Francia, all of Monessen; five grandchildren, Fred (Danielle) Naccarato, Jessica (Frank) Rapsky, Liza (Patsy) Altomari, Elizabeth Francia and Jeffrey Francia; nine great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Salvino; two brothers, Joseph and Ralph Reda; and his sister, Emma Hoosac. Due to the pandemic, private visitation was held in DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. A private funeral Mass was also held in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with the Rev. Michael Crookston officiating. Entombment followed in the Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum, Monessen.
