One of the Pagans who was sentenced last month to at least 20 years in jail on assault charges is at the center of a new criminal investigation, according to detectives.
Matthew Vasquez, 31, of Monessen and three friends — including another member of the Pagans Motorcycle Club — allegedly conspired to hide two of his Harley-Davidson motorcycles so they would not be repossessed.
Vasquez was sentenced to 20-40 years in mid-May after his conviction on charges of aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault in connection with the beating of former Pagan Troy Harris in the Slovak Club in Charleroi last year.
Vasquez was also found guilty of six counts of contempt of court for violating Washington County Common Pleas Judge John DiSalle’s order barring him from having contact with his former fiancée Jamie Granato, who testified against him during the assault trial. Another 18 months to three years were added on to his sentence as a result of those charges.
Now Vasquez, David Wadsworth, 50, of Belle Vernon, Karen Wadsworth, 50, of Belle Vernon and Michael Showalter II, 31, of Washington, Pa., are all charged with two counts each of defrauding secured creditors and conspiracy to engage in defrauding secured creditors.
