The Lamp Theatre in Irwin is ready to open its doors to audiences, starting with a benefit concert Sunday afternoon for Operation Troop Appreciation.
The theater has been closed since the end of March under the state’s COVID-19 restrictions, but is now able to reopen under green phase guidelines.
William Elder, general manager at The Lamp, said the theater’s size is working in its favor to reopen economically at half capacity, which is about 175 people.
“We will have general admission and will be seating people to socially distance,” Elder said.
Family groups attending events will be seated together, but each group will be distanced from others in the theater.
“Masks will be required to enter and when moving around, but are not required while in your seats,” Elder said. “It’s a major concern for us that everyone feel comfortable when they come in.”
