Albert P. ‘Spaghetti’ Gagliardi – Monongahela
Albert P. “Spaghetti” Gagliardi, 90, of Monongahela, Victory Hill, died Thursday, June 18, 2020, in his home. Born Jan. 19, 1930, in Monongahela, he was the son of Antonio and Mary Surace Gagliardi. Al was a 1947 graduate of Monongahela High School and a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Marines Corps. After returning home from the war, he began working at the former Liggett’s Spring and Axle Company and then the former Combustion Engineering until their closings. Al then worked as a machine operator until his retirement in 1992 at Bearings Service in Donora. A member of the former St. Anthony Catholic Church in Monongahela, he was also a member of Carroll Township American Legion Post No. 949, Monongahela VFW Post No.1409 and the Victory Hill Social Club. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Terri Gagliardi of Rostraver Township; a grandson, Andrew and Tiffany Couch-Gagliardi; and two granddaughters, Ashly and Emily Gagliardi; a brother, James Gagliardi of Somerset Township; a sister, Virginia Razzano of Grove City; a sister-in-law, Judy Gagliardi of Monongahela; and he will be sadly missed by his many loving nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, Levina Mackey Gagliardi, who died June 10, 2000; a great-granddaughter, Addison Grace, who passed away April 7, 2019; a brother, John “Ponce” Gagliardi; and a sister, Teresa Dobos. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 22, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020, with Pastor Mike Hough officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
