Anne Pasterick Matty – formerly of North Belle Vernon and Rostraver Township
Anne Pasterick Matty, 106, formerly of North Belle Vernon and Rostraver Township, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant. Born March 23, 1914, in Donora, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Kopyschinski Pasterick. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 83 years, Mrs. Matty was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, was a retired nurse and enjoyed crocheting hats which she would give to soldiers and lap robes that she gave to veterans in veterans’ hospitals. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, E. Daniel and Louise Matty of Rostraver Township; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Matty of Belle Vernon; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and nieces Alberta, Penelope ‘Penny’ and Mary Ann. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Matty; daughter, Sandra McCutchen; sons, Thomas C. Matty and John E. Matty; sister, Mary Bolek; and a daughter-in-law, Jean Matty. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 26, at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Relatives and friends will gather directly at noon at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, Mary Street, Belle Vernon, on Saturday, June 27 for funeral services with the Very Rev. Stephan Gresh of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church officiating. Interment will take place in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Parastas service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening in the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Anne Matty to Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, Belle Vernon or the American Cancer Society.
