One half of a pair of McKeesport men who pleaded guilty to a drug distribution conspiracy has been sentenced to more than two years in prison.
Leonard Wygant, 38, of McKeesport was sentenced Wednesday to 27 months of imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady said.
Wygant conspired to distribute drugs with Thomas Thornton, also of McKeesport. Thornton was sentenced to a little more than three years in jail, followed by five years of supervised release. Thornton pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine, being a convicted felon in possession of firearms and ammunition and possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Agents executed a search warrant at Thornton’s McKeesport residence in May 2018 and recovered a 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a loaded magazine, a .45 caliber handgun with a loaded magazine, ammunition, heroin and cocaine.
