The Allegheny County Health Department issued a new order Friday that relaxed some of the restrictions it enacted July 8, but kept some others in place as new coronavirus cases in the county continue to pile up.
Friday’s report of 5,990 total cases includes 240 new positive tests, 17 new hospitalizations and one new death. The newest patients range in age from 1 month to 97 years old, but the median age is 34. The test results are from June 29 through Thursday. The patient who died, a 97-year-old, passed away Thursday.
ACHD Director Dr. Debra Bogen announced a new order to stem the spread of coronavirus cases in the county following a review of the state’s orders that were issued Wednesday. The new order rescinds the July 8 order and took effect yesterday.
