A global company will soon call the Mon Valley home.
On Friday, the Mon Valley Alliance, an economic development organization, announced it has sold lot 11A in Alta Vista Business Park in Fallowfield Township.
Suncap Property Group, the developer of lot 11A, will soon begin construction on a new facility for Komatsu Mining Corp’s 250,000-square-foot global distribution center.
SunCap Property Group is a privately held, national commercial real estate development, investment and advisory firm with offices based in Charlotte, N.C., Denver, Colo., and Pittsburgh.
In the past 10 years, the company has taken on roughly 80 projects similar in magnitude to the one soon to begin in Alta Vista.
Komatsu Mining Corp. is part of the global Komatsu family of companies involved in the mining, forestry, industrial and construction industries and has operated in Washington County for more than 60 years.
The company provides equipment, systems and solutions used by companies worldwide to extract fundamental minerals for developing modern infrastructure, technology and consumer products.
The announcement has been months in the making.
Before the project was announced, supervisors had to approve a motion to abandon a cul de sac at Simko Boulevard and agree to subdivide lot 11 in Alta Vista from 31 acres to 20.
Both were conditionally and unanimously approved at a meeting in February.
