An annual tradition will continue in the 5-Town region next month.
Each year, residents of Roscoe, Stockdale, Allenport, Dunlevy and Elco, have a community-wide street sale during the first full weekend in August.
The event is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 7 and 8 this year, but many residents hit the streets early to find the best deals.
Each year, the event brings people outdoors for an old-fashioned community yard sale.
Area fire departments and churches frequently get involved and sell baked goods or hoagies. However, Roscoe Mayor Tom Wilkinson said he’s not sure if that will happen this year because of the pandemic.
“We’d still love to have them, but I have not heard anyone confirm if they have any plans,” he said.
The event has been a tradition in the 5-Town region for more than a decade.
“We did consider canceling the event with everything going on, but we had a lot of requests for it, so we decided to keep it going,” Wilkinson said.
