George Comadena Sr. – Charleroi
George Comadena Sr. passed away on July 23, 2020, from natural causes. Born May 3, 1928, he was the son of Steve and Mary Comadena of Naomi. He graduated from Marion High School, where he was a fullback on the varsity football team. He married Betty Miller on Christmas Eve in 1949, and together they had two children, Theresa and George. He worked for Keystone Homes and Fox Grocery Company. He was the founder of 70-S Transportation Incorporated, servicing the Mon Valley area for 17 years. He looked forward to attending church on Sundays until his health prevented it. He enjoyed sports and gardening as well as taking care of his family. He was preceded in death by both his parents; his brothers, Mike, Lou, Pete, Nick, Milton (Mim) and Paul; his sister, Anna; and his wife, Betty. He is survived by his companion, Margaret Miller of Charleroi; daughter Theresa Comadena of Pittsburgh; son, George Comadena Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.; and his two beloved grandchildren, George Comadena III and Lauren Comadena, both of Charleroi. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at ELEY-MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Face masks are to be worn in the funeral home and social distancing guidelines need to be followed. Viewing and service are limited to 25 people at any one time inside the funeral home.
