Mary Jane Anderson – Monessen
On Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, Mary Jane Anderson, loving mother of three children and grandmother of five grandchildren, passed away at the age of 82. She was born March 19, 1938, in Monessen, a daughter of the late Alfred Triggs and Nelis Triggs-Williams. Mary attended Union Baptist Church, and in her later years, Gate of Heaven. Mary graduated top of her class from Monessen High School in 1956. Mary then united in marriage with John Bronson Sr. From that union, she had three children, John Bronson Jr., Barry Bronson, and Brenda Chukwuedo. Later in life, Mary married the late Ernest Anderson of Monessen. During this time, she was an exemplary employee at Westmoreland Manor, while also becoming a certified phlebotomist. Mary belonged to the Eastern Star Club. Mary was preceded in death by her father and stepfather, Alfred Triggs and Emory Williams; mother, Nelis Willams; and siblings, Leonard Williams, Larry Williams, Jerry Williams, and Emily Williams. She is survived by two siblings, Eunice Hansard of Harrisburg and Vaughn Williams of Washington, Pa.; three children, John Bronson Jr. of Monessen, Barry Bronson (Shannon) of Wilsonville, Ore.; and Brenda Chukwuedo of Corinth, Texas. Mary is also survived by grandchildren, Jorge Frezzlle of Monessen, Brooke Vaught (Gyl) of Philadelphia, Christina Chukwuedo of Monessen, Christopher Chukwuedo of Glen Ridge, N.J., and Cole Bronson of Wilsonville, Ore.; and six great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary shared a special bond with childhood friends, Fannie Burroughs of Monessen and the late Constance Crawley of Monessen. Mary was full of life, charismatic and a fabulous cook. Mary was blessed to travel all around the world to the likes of Hong Kong and Germany. She was also a phenomenal and invaluable grandmother to her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 11 to noon, Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at Gate of Heaven. You must wear a mask to enter the building and practice social distancing. The funeral service will follow right after with Pastor William Bass officiating.
