Gloria Jane Burgoyne – Monongahela
Gloria Jane Burgoyne, 80, of Monongahela, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2020, in the Belair Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lower Burrell. She was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Monongahela, the daughter of Alfred and Amelia Chevine Loutitt. Gloria was a member of First Baptist Church in Monongahela. Years ago, she was employed by several area businesses, such as the Hickory Grill and the Triangle Shoe Store, both of Monongahela, and the Hanger Factory in New Eagle. Gloria was employed for 36 years by Ringgold School District, where she drove school bus and the band equipment truck, was in charge of the inter-system mail and was a custodian at Ringgold Central Office. In her younger years, Gloria played amateur softball for Van Voorhis and won the championship in 1962. She bowled for over 60 years in leagues and traveling leagues and enjoyed playing bingo. She worked at several bingos throughout the Mon Valley calling numbers and was particularly known for calling “B the-ree.” Before the onset of her dementia, she loved doing yard work and tinkering outside. Gloria was an avid sports fan of all the Pittsburgh teams and the Duke Blue Devils basketball team. She delighted in feeding the birds and deer that frequented her yard and loved vacationing in Myrtle Beach with her family. She will be truly missed by her furry friends, Harry, Sally, Minnie and Mickey. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Kim and husband Jim Van Voorhis of Venetia, with whom she made her home for the last year and a half; two sisters, Betty Marynchak of New Eagle and Shirley Walters of Monongahela; sister-in-law, Frances “Poochie” Loutitt of Monongahela; aunt, Norma Fantasia of Florida; nieces, Darlene Marynchak, Joyce Protz and her twin daughters, Josie and Jamie, Laurie Kriston, Cheryl O’Bosky, Darla Harvey and Melissa Loutitt; and nephews, Richard Loutitt and George, Terry and Darren Marynchak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Richard Loutitt; two brothers-in-law, William “Mandy” Walters and George Marynchak; sister-in-law, Antoinette “Babe” Loutitt; and three nephews, Jeffrey and Charles Loutitt and John Rand. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2020, with the Rev. Mark Schollaert officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
