Gloria Jean ‘Glo’ Freeman-Bright – CarrolL Township
Gloria Jean “Glo” Freeman-Bright, 68, of Carroll Township, passed in her sleep Friday, Sept. 4, 2020, after a hard-fought and brave 30-month battle with lung and brain cancer. Born Sunday, Sept. 23, 1951, in North Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Katherine Arlene “Bubs, Bubbie” Burkett Gaul and Jack Alvin Gaul. Gloria was a graduate of Monessen High School and Douglas School of Business. Through the years, she worked at Brookville Sewing Factory, Donora Sportswear, Tollgrade Communications as a QA Technician, Dr. DeRienzo’s as a medical assistant, and Dick’s Sportswear as a receiving associate. She was a mother, friend and life coach to many, who also loved her back just as much as the unconditional love she showed. Her smile and quick wit often lit up a room and caught people off guard, but you couldn’t help but be drawn to her. She never hesitated to tell you like it was and offer help if needed. She was preceded in death by two husbands. Rodney E. Freeman Sr. and Roscoe Bright; an uncle, Daniel W. Burkett; a brother, James Allen Gaul; a daughter, Jeanne “Dino” R. Davis; a grandson, Clifton Gore III, a granddaughter, Elizabeth “Izzy” Paige Bright; and a nephew, James A. Gaul II. Survivors include two brothers-in-law, Leroy Bright (Sharon) and Mark Freeman (Sherion); one sister-in-law, Janet Carter (Floyd); four sons, Rodney E. Freeman Jr. (Gail), Jason L. Bright, Roscoe C. Bright (Amanda) and Michael C. Bright (Christina); two daughters, Roconia E. Price (Mark) and Willie A. Gore (Clifton); various aunts and uncles, including Charles Ross Burkett (Sheryl) and Nina Raye Burd Burkett; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her loved ones and frequent caretakers (who can never be properly repaid or thanked) were Lisa Bright Floyd, Kimmi Charlton, Sabrina Coughenour, Amara Chaney and Sonja B. Behanna. She was also under the care of the AHN Hospice team, which were all so great and attentive to her. Her regulars were Amanda Billy, Terri Doman, Angela Woznick and Katie Gardner. Arrangements are being handled by ANTHONY L.
