Charleroi students will return to class next month.
After hearing from several families during a special meeting Tuesday, the school board unanimously approved a four-day in-person instruction plan that will begin Oct. 5.
CASD has been operating under a virtual instruction plan since the start of the school year.
During a business meeting last week, the board agreed to hold a special meeting to further discuss its education plan, dependent on data from the state.
Several parents cited frustrations with the online platform and connectivity while learning from home.
Superintendent Dr. Ed Zelich is happy that the district’s schedule is becoming closer to normal.
“On behalf of our board of directors, administrative team, faculty and staff, we are excited to announce that we will shift to our yellow phase reopening hybrid plan as we welcome our students back to school beginning Monday, Oct. 5, 2020,” Zelich said. “Although our return to school will be significantly different than in years past, our entire team is prepared to adapt to the changes and is working hard to ensure a safe and successful school year.”
Families who choose the in-person option will send students to school Mondays through Thursdays.
