Two students at Ringgold Elementary School South have tested positive for COVID-19.
Acting Superintendent Randall Skrinjorich said the district was informed of the positive cases early Monday morning and immediately began response protocols in accordance with the district’s health and safety plan, which include communication with the district’s pandemic coordinator and the state Department of Health.
“While awaiting further instructions from the DOH, we concurrently began drafting notification to parents and began contact tracing to identify any students or staff who have been in close contact with the students who had tested positive,” Skrinjorich wrote in a letter to parents.
The district is using the definition of “close contact” put forth from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the DOH, which means anyone who came in contact with students closer than 6 feet for more than 15 minutes with or without a mask will be notified.
