The last time the Charleroi girls faced Chartiers-Houston, the Cougars were blasted 7-0.
Charleroi wanted a little redemption the second time around when the teams faced off Thursday at Myron Pottios Stadium.
The Cougars didn’t get the result they wanted but the young team showed they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with in years to come.
Seconds after Bella Carroto sent a 25-yard blast into the back of the net to tie the game, Chartiers-Houston’s Ashley Horvath scored off a long rebound to give the Bucs a 5-4 win over the Cougars.
“This is definitely one of those games I have a lot of confidence that we win as soon as next season,” Charleroi coach Traci Fleming said. “These are some of the growing pains I knew we were going to go through, but this is one of those games that a young team will learn how to win.”
