Bentworth scored within the first two minutes and never looked back in a dominant 7-0 victory over Monessen in Section 2-A play Wednesday.
The Bearcats (8-3, 6-3) entered the contest with a ton of momentum after knocking off Seton LaSalle, one of the section’s top teams, on Monday. They went on to score four first-half goals against the Greyhounds (0-9, 0-9) before adding three more in the final 40 minutes.
“You kinda get worried about the game right after a big win, but my girls are really mentally tough,” Bentworth head coach Tyler Hamstra said. “They were really focused and they were saying all the right things before and after the game, making sure we have our heads on right and that we’re not taking anybody lightly.”
Emily Kisner and Reagan Schreiber led the way for Bentworth with a pair of goals.
