After nearly nine months as acting superintendent for the Ringgold School District, Randall Skrinjorich now officially holds the position of superintendent.
At their meeting Wednesday, school directors voted 8-1 to appoint Skrinjorich as the district’s superintendent for the next five years.
School Director James Dodd cast the lone no vote. School directors voting yes were President Bill Stein, Sherrie Garry, Harley Bobnar, Carol Flament, Jason Gerard, Gene Kennedy, Larry Mauro and Maureen Ott.
“I would like to offer my sincere thanks to the board,” Skrinjorich, who’s been an employee of the district for 16 years, said following the vote. “The district and community mean a great deal to me. I will do my best to move the district past this pandemic.”
School directors did not discuss the motion, although Dodd motioned to table the vote. School directors voted 1-8 against tabling the vote.
Skrinjorich’s official term as superintendent begins Dec. 1, and ends Nov. 30, 2025, pursuant he secures all necessary and final clearances and pending any necessary Pennsylvania Department of Education approvals.
Skrinjorich was named acting superintendent in March after the resignation of then-superintendent Megan Marie Van Fossan. Skrinjorich’s previous role was as the district’s director of operations and financial services.
Skrinjorich was also acting superintendent two years ago after the sudden death of then-superintendent Dr. Karen Polkabla.
