Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Shaffer ‘Liz’ White – Buckhannon, W.Va.
Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Shaffer “Liz” White, 73, a resident of the Hall Road near Buckhannon, W.Va., went home to be with Lord Saturday morning, Oct. 24, 2020, at her home. She was born Feb. 21, 1947, in Philipsburg, Pa., daughter of the late Blair and Eva Russin Shaffer. On May 6, 1978, in Belle Vernon, she was united in marriage to Robert James “Bob” White, who survives at their home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Tracy Rhode of Kissimmee, Fla., Tiffani Cole of Hanover, Pa., Gabriel White and wife Lindsey of Greenock, Pa., and Timothy White and wife Brandi of Buckhannon, W.Va. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren: Warren, Shae, Kyler, Taliah, Haylee, Gabrielle, Shelby, Sophia and Kane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and David Shaffer. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Liz graduated High School in Philipsburg, Pa., and attended Robert Morris University. She attended The Light of Christ Chapel in Belington and was a devoted Christian and a wonderful homemaker. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren’s visits and baking with them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received at TALBOTT FUNERAL HOME, 56 N. Brandenburg St., in Belington, W.Va., from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020. On Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, she will be moved to The Light of Christ Chapel in Belington, where friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. the funeral hour, when services will be conducted with Jimmie E. Tallman officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery near Hall, W.Va. Due to the governor’s recent order, face coverings are required and social distancing is recommended while paying your respects during the visitation and funeral services.
