Sometimes things just seem to go together perfectly. That appears to be the case for Frazier High School senior Rylee Evans and her college selection.
Evans wants to study nursing and she wants to play softball at a high level. She will get the opportunity to do both after receiving a scholarship and signing her letter of intent to attend Saint Francis University.
Evans loves the atmosphere at the Division I school, located in Loretto.
“When I went there, it just felt like home,” Evans said. “They have an amazing nursing program and I will get to continue my athletic career, so I am definitely excited about that.”
Evans noted that in recent years, she has watched as several local softball players have gone on to play Division I softball for the Red Flash.
“That has definitely been an inspiration for me,” Evans said.
The Red Flash picked up five wins before COVID-19 shut down college spring sports during the early stages of the 2020 season. Saint Francis racked up 39 wins and a Northeast Conference championship just two years ago.
“They have definitely had some success and I’m excited to go there and try to help the team a little bit,” Evans said. “Ever since I was young, I wanted to play Division I softball.”
