The Elizabeth Forward School District is sticking with its current educational plan despite a recommendation from Allegheny County that all districts go to full remote learning.
“Right now we have no intention of changing our instructional model. That could change with short notice,” District Superintendent Dr. Todd Keruskin said at this week’s committee-of-the whole meeting and again in a letter to parents.
Elementary students are attending in-person classes five days a week, while middle school and high school students are continuing with the hybrid model.
Keruskin said the district has only one active case of COVID-19 among its students and staff.
“Our goal is to keep schools open as much as possible,” he said. “COVID is on the rise in our area.”
