Eugene K. ‘Oggie’ Stewart – Perryopolis
Eugene K. “Oggie” Stewart, 93, passed away on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. He was born in Gillespie on July 26, 1927, son of the late Thomas and Jessie Gardner Stewart. He was employed at Heidelberg Metals prior to his retirement and was a member of the Perryopolis Baptist Church. Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and spending time around the dinner table visiting with family and friends. Lovingly referred to by his family as “Dad” and “Pappy Ogg”, he was often the main character in many memorable stories shared again and again. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas and mother, Jessie Gardner Stewart; sister, Agnes Coldren; brothers, Thomas, Melrose, James and Willis; first wife, Betty Farquhar Stewart; and stepdaughter, Joyce Callaway Miller. Eugene is survived by his wife, Charlotte Yvonne Miller Stewart; daughters, Cheryl J. Stewart Popovec (Gerald M.) of Rostraver and Regina Jones of W.Va.; son, Eugene II (Janice) of Texas; stepsons, Clifford Callaway (Cheryl I.) of Kentucky and Terry W. Callaway (Kim) of Rostraver; stepson-in-law, Jerry Miller of New Paris; along with 25 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; plus, beloved cousin, Regina Stewart Wozniak; devoted friends, Alan And Betty Baker; ever-faithful dog, Penny. There will not be visitation services. A private interment will occur at Belle Vernon Cemetery.
