Ohio man killed in accident on I-70

A 33-year-old man from Ohio who was working on a disabled vehicle along Interstate 70 in Fallowfield Township was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer Monday morning.
According to the Washington County Coroner’s Office, John Marvin Isenberg III, 33, of Toronto, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene around 8:50 a.m. The coroner’s office said Isenberg was working on a car on the right shoulder of the highway near an exit for the Mon-Fayette Expressway when a truck traveling east struck him.
A cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy from the coroner’s office.
The interstate was closed for at least three hours while state police conducted an investigation.
Fallowfield Township Volunteer Fire Company conducted traffic control at the scene of the accident for at least two hours before PennDOT crews took over.
Interstate 70 was closed for about three hours, but reopened to traffic around 10:30 a.m.
State police are handling the investigation and were assisted on scene by Fallowfield Township Fire Company and Mon Valley EMS.
Chief Anthony Fleming said it was the first fatal accident in the company’s coverage area this year.
