Joseph R. Uchelvich – Belle Vernon
Joseph R. Uchelvich, 69, of Belle Vernon, passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born Dec. 19, 1950, in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late Joseph and Edith Irene Coking Uchelvich. A lifelong resident of Gillespie and Belle Vernon, Mr. Uchelvich was a member of RLDS/Community of Christ Church, Fayette City and Rehoboth Presbyterian Church. Mr. Uchelvich was a retired crane serviceman from ALL Crane and served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post 659 in Belle Vernon, the Fayette City American Legion, Fairhope Rod and Gun Club, Mon Valley Leathernecks and coached youth football for the Rostraver Leopards for more than 20 years. He is survived by a son, Aaron Uchelvich and fiancé Lee Betham of Belle Vernon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimi Jo and Shawn Bergman of West Chester and Kelly and Ken Gilotty of Washington Township; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Rae and Jeff Smith of Gillespie; grandchildren, Ashur, Oliver, Connor, Tyler, Reid, Sarah Grace and Laney Jo; and two nieces and a nephew, Bethane, Meghan and Bill. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ava. A memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at Rehoboth Cemetery Chapel, followed by private funeral service. Keeping with State mandates masks MUST be worn and social distancing must be maintained.
