The Ringgold boys basketball team picked up its first win under head coach Eugene Wilson Wednesday night.
Wilson, however, was not pleased with his team’s effort on the court.
Ringgold took down Monessen, 69-58, in nonsection play thanks to its second-half performance. The Rams were able to take advantage of the Hounds’ continued offensive struggles and started scoring off the Monessen (7-6) pressure.
Despite seeing his team’s improvement in the final 16 minutes, the effort put forth in the first half and late in the contest had Wilson disappointed in the group’s performance.
“It was not what we wanted. I’m not satisfied at all, I’m not even happy to be honest,” Wilson said. “When we played (Laurel Highlands), we set a standard for ourselves. That was such a good game. Now the challenge is, ‘Can you bring it every single night to at least that standard?’”
