Arnold K. Dull – Belle Vernon
Arnold K. Dull, 80, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. A son of the late Joseph and Alverta Bulger Dull, he was born in North Charleroi on Nov. 5, 1940. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monessen. Arnold retired from the Pennsylvania State Police in November 1990, after serving for 30 years. He was a former president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 47 of Eighty Four and served on the Pennsylvania State Police Arbitration Committee. He worked with others to bring many positive changes to the troopers who followed him. Arnold helped organize and was the first president of the Belle Vernon Area Swim Club and also served on the Washington Township Youth Association Girls Softball program. He served several years as a supervisor in Washington Township. Most recently, he joined the Mon Valley RC Club where he enjoyed learning to fly model airplanes and the friendship of those he met within the club. He is survived by a daughter and son in-law, Christy Dull Horning and Craig Horning Jr. of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Tyler Arnold Shaffer of Belle Vernon and Corey Joe Shaffer of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; a brother in-law, Russell Bentz of West Newton; niece, Leslie and husband Eric Popp of West Newton; and other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Boulton Dull, on Oct. 14, 2015. There will be no public visitation or services. In his honor, an F.O.P. service will be held in the near future.
