Drive-thru Easter egg hunt set at Angelo’s II

They decorate for Halloween and help Monongahela light up for Christmas, and this Easter, Angelo’s II and its employees will once again be the center of attention.

The restaurant will host its second “Drive-Thru Easter Egg Hunt” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 20. The event is sponsored by Sarris Candies and the Monongahela Area Historical Society.

The restaurant’s employees and the Easter Bunny himself will be curbside handing out bunny bags to children ages 2 to 12.

Angelo’s II owner Ryan Dzimiera said there will be enough bunny bags for 1,000 kids.

Dzimiera credited his uncle, Peter Dzimiera, with coming up with the idea to make the egg hunt drive-thru.

“We did it last year and it went great,” he said. “The police shut down Third Street and we had a line of cars all the way down the road.”

The contents of the bunny bags are individual factory-wrapped cookies and candy items in a sealed bag assembled in the restaurant.

Anyone wanting a bunny bag should approach the restaurant from Railroad Street and turn onto Third Street.

Angelo’s II asks everyone to stay in their car to receive a bag. No bags will be distributed in the restaurant.
