Janet E. Cox – Elco

Janet E. Cox, 60, of Elco, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in North Charleroi on July 2, 1960, a daughter of the late Elijah T. and Margaret Bell Gauden Jr. Janet was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church. She was a caregiver to many. Janet enjoyed baking, playing cards and family traditions. She is survived by four sisters, Debra Palfrey of Elkton, Md., Bonnie Hotz of Brick, N.J., Bridget Gauden of Roscoe and Denise (Jerry) Fink of South Park; and three brothers, Samuel Gauden of Cleveland, Ohio, Gary Gauden of Roscoe and her twin brother, James Gauden of Roscoe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great-niece and great-great nieces and great-great-nephews. She was also a third mom to Katie and Ken. Along with her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne A. Cox; a sister Wanda L. McGarry; and a nephew, Steven J. Hotz. A private visitation was held Thursday, April 1. Private funeral services will take place Friday, April 2, with interment at Howe Cemetery, Long Branch.
