After a year of handling only the most essential duties, the Forward Township supervisors are starting to catch up with some needed projects.
At their meeting Monday, conducted by Zoom, the supervisors voted to advertise for paving bids.
“Last year we didn’t expend any of our state Liquid Fuels money, so we’re playing catch up,” said Supervisor David Magiske.
Magiske said the township has a list of more than 40 small roads to be paved, ones that usually are difficult to get done because contractors would rather set up their equipment once for a long road than multiple times for a number of short roads.
The roads range in length from 87 feet for Morgan Run to 4,094 feet for William Penn Road. Most of the roads are several hundred feet long.
“The roads tend to get very little use and last longer between repairs,” Magiske said.
