Ringgold School District officials continue to move forward with phase one of renovation projects to the high school’s natatorium and swimming pool.
School directors awarded the general construction contract for the $5.5 million project last week as well as numerous other contracts. In addition, the district learned the project may be completed sooner than expected.
At last week’s school board meeting, directors awarded the $2.8 million general construction contract to Pittsburgh-based Caliber Contracting Services.
According to HHSDR Architects Executive Vice President Matthew Franz, the company will oversee the renovations of the building’s restrooms, boys’ and girls’ locker rooms, concession stand, trainers’ area and the pool’s plumbing system.
Other contracts the school board awarded were $508,000 to First American Industries for plumbing construction; $402,000 to Allegheny City Electric for electrical construction; $44,800 to Pitchford Diversified for commissioning agent services and $17,110 to Geomechanics Inc. for geotechnical inspection services.
