Lisa Helmantoler – Belle Vernon

Lisa Helmantoler, 51, of Belle Vernon, passed away on June 11, 2021, in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. She was born in Monessen Aug. 10, 1969, a daughter of Donald Madzey, who survives and resides in Stockdale, and the late Catherine Shaw Madzey. Lisa graduated from Charleroi High School, Class of 1987, and California University of Pennsylvania, having obtained a master’s degree in speech pathology. She worked at Intermediate Unit One of Coal Center and was a member of PSEA and ASHA. In 2019, she received the Annie Sullivan Award for being an outstanding speech pathologist. Lisa was Christian by faith. In addition to her father, she is survived by her sister, Stacy and husband Mark Lovett of Rostraver Township; a brother, DJ and wife Stacey Madzey of Monessen; and nieces and nephews, Mark and Meghen Lovett, Mason Madzey and Jordan, Daniel, Darian and Tyler Helmantoler. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Helmantoler; and her grandmother, Rose Mallino. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where the family will welcome friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2021. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Matthew Stabe officiating. Interment will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery.
