Josephine Pushnack – formerly of Charleroi
Josephine Rade Pushnack, 92, formerly of Charleroi, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J., after a brief illness. Known as “Seka,” she was born on Aug. 11, 1928, the daughter of Barbara Cvetan Rade and Joseph Rade. Ms. Pushnack was born in Fayette City and lived in the Mon Valley until she moved to New Jersey at age 90. Seka was the valedictorian of Marion High School, Belle Vernon, Class of 1946. She worked for many years at the Monongahela VFW before her retirement. Seka loved to travel, and her favorite was the Caribbean Islands, where she enjoyed calypso music and dancing with the locals. Ms. Pushnack was an accomplished seamstress, having sewn many of her and her children’s clothes. Reading was her passion and she could always be seen with a book or a magazine in her hands. Ms. Pushnack was predeceased by her parents, and two brothers, Francis and Eugene Rade. She is survived by her four children, Barbara Ann Godfrey (Willard) of Belle Vernon, Tamara Giorgi (Nino) of Charleroi, Jeffrey Raymond (Kathy) of Pittsburgh and Tanya Friedman (Mitch) of New Jersey; eight grandchildren, Dr. John A. Godfrey (Melissa), Kelly Luzanski (John), Marc Giorgi (JoMarie), Aaron Giorgi, Addison and Jake Raymond, and Jenna and Dylan Friedman; five great-grandchildren, Jonah, Jackson and Kaelin Godfrey and Maria and Anthony Giorgi; and a great-niece, Jennifer Sevcik. Burial will be private at the family’s convenience.
